On Friday March 23rd at approximately 5:30 am Woodbury Heights firefighters were dispatched to a building fire at the Woodbury Heights Fire Station 15-1. The station was heavily damaged by the blaze. Parts of the building have been razed but, the full extent of damage has not been completely determined as of today (Sunday March 25^th). The public can check our website under the “Information Center” tab for updates.

UPDATE April 10th, 2012

Woodbury Heights Fire Department Update: The Fire Department has secured a lease at the old Bell Telephone Garage on Glassboro Rd. This will be the home of the Fire Department until the Firehouse rebuild is complete. The apparatus should be placed in the garage sometime during the week of April 16^th and the fire department will be back in full operation at that time.

Over the last couple weeks engineers, inspectors and insurance adjusters have been inspecting the existing firehouse and it has been determined that the old part of the existing firehouse (The Original Building) must be removed, and as of right now most of the apparatus room and the hall will stay in place.

Despite many rumors the cause of the fire that destroyed parts of the firehouse has not been determined and is still being investigated.

UPDATE April 23rd, 2012

All fire apparatus and the EMS squad has been placed in the temporary facility (the old Bell Telephone Garage) and the Fire Department is 100% in service.
